Before going to the primary research, we wanted to analyze that similar product existing in the market. Are they helpful enough to the user to keep them engaged for the long term? Are they providing all the services that users are expecting?
We have interviewed 10+ users in person to recognise the pattern and process they have in order to exchange toys. After analysing the data from the qualitative research, we quickly got a good overview of problems that the users have faced and what are their basic requirements.
We conducted an online survey for consumers so that we could observe a similar pattern in terms of their responses. About 30+ people took part in the survey and made this study possible.
These insights helped us to create detailed user personas that guided the design process and ensured that the app met the needs of its intended users. Meet the main persona.

Through the journey map, we will gain a deeper understanding of the user experience and make targeted improvements to improve the overall experience. This can ensure that users can successfully exchange toys and enjoy using the app.
Based on the research, an Information architecture was formed that was intuitive for users to navigate. The app is divided into sections, each section dedicated to a specific area of functionality, such as browsing available toys, managing one's own toy lists, or connecting with other users to exchange toys.
The primary font for the app is Poppins, a modern and elegant typeface that adds a touch of sophistication to the design. The color palette includes shades of plum purple and bittersweet, which create a bold and eye-catching aesthetic. These colors can be used in a balanced way throughout the app's interface to create a visually appealing and cohesive design.

The new design should make it easier for users to understand the purpose of the form and complete it quickly and accurately.
The form has been updated to meet accessibility standards, ensuring that all users, including those with disabilities, can easily navigate and interact with the form.
All visual elements, such as typography, colors, and icons, have been refined to improve readability, clarity, and overall aesthetics. This creates a visually appealing and engaging experience for users.
The redesigned form will have a more intuitive and user-friendly layout, making it easier for users to navigate and complete.
The form lacked consistency with the platform's design, with mismatched typography, colors, and field styles. Additionally, the Confidence level label and Check-in date field were confusing for users. Custom fields were also not appropriately organized, making them difficult to use. Overall, the initial design needed significant improvements to ensure an optimal user experience.
The process of completing a Key Result can be set to two different types: one that track each step of progress toward achieving, and another that reports achievement with a simple yes or no. By default, the form is set to contain 3 Confidence levels, buttons, but up to 11 Custom levels can be created, which makes the interface look cluttered. Also, there can be different and a large number of custom files, which makes the form difficult to track.
To address this issue, several iterations and tests were carried out to refine the design and improve usability.
Initial iterations aimed to explore component placement to find the most efficient design. The main focus was on Current value, Confidence level, Update date and others. These interactions aimed to identify the most user-friendly and intuitive placement of each component for optimal usability and accessibility.
We conducted 2 rounds of unmoderated usability testing to gather feedback from users. The first round was held with colleagues across the company, within 2 weeks, using Maze, 37 respondents participated. This was a critical step in the design process to ensure that the Key Result form was user-friendly and accessible. The feedback gathered from the test helped us identify areas of improvement and make necessary changes to the form.
A majority of users found the updated Key Result form to be easy to use, with 57% of respondents with 16 out of 36 respondents giving it a score of 5 out of 5 for ease of use. In addition, a significant number of users (44%) reported that the experience met their expectations, with 16 out of 36 respondents giving a score of 8 out of 10 or higher.
The results suggest that the new form is meeting the needs and expectations of a large number of users, which is a positive outcome for the project. Based on this feedback, we will continue to iterate and improve the form to ensure that it meets the needs of all users.
The form has been improved based on user feedback with increased visibility of KR owners and Current value, addition of a More options accordion for the extra fields, information on who will receive notifications about the update, and placement of required Custom fields in the main section.
In the second usability testing with clients in 2022, 37 respondents participated. Of the 23 respondents who answered the question on satisfaction with updating Key Results, 65% (15 users) gave a score of 4 out of 5. Most respondents (44%/12 users) said they need 2 or 3 confidence levels for their Key Results. The "More options" label for additional update options was selected by 63% (15 testers), and 75% (18 of 24 respondents) expected it to be in that position. This feedback will help improve the Key Result form's usability and accessibility.
After the tests were completed and feedback was gathered and analyzed, the final version of the Key Result form was implemented and made available for use by customers.
